2026 is said to be a pivotal year for Apple, with many important hardware launches. Beyond the long-awaited foldable iPhone, the MacBook Pro will get a major upgrade.
New Design
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release a new MacBook Pro by year-end with M6 chips built on a 2nm process. The new MacBook Pro will see a major design overhaul:
- Thinner, lighter chassis
- No notch: Replaced with a single punch-hole or iPhone-style Dynamic Island
- Higher screen-to-body ratio
OLED Touchscreen Debut
The MacBook Pro models with M6 Pro and M6 Max will be the first to use an OLED display. The screen supports touch, though touch is a supplementary feature—Apple will keep the trackpad.
The MacBook Pro OLED will rival the iPad Pro, likely using dual-stack OLED for better brightness and power efficiency.
