Why strip EXIF?
Phone cameras often embed GPS, device model, and capture time. Sharing a beach photo can leak a home neighborhood; a workplace screenshot can leak device fingerprints. Scrubbing metadata is basic image hygiene—same class of habit as removing draft marks.
How this tool works
- You pick an image; bytes stay in browser memory.
- We draw pixels onto a
canvasand export a new file. - Classic EXIF containers are not copied into the export.
- Close the tab to discard the bitmap.
Privacy
wordok.top does not receive your file for EXIF stripping. Same local model as Watermark and the toolbox. See tools privacy and the site privacy policy.
Limits (read before high-stakes use)
- This is not a forensic redaction suite. Embedded thumbnails in odd containers or non-EXIF sidecars may need specialist tools.
- Visible content (faces, screens, documents) is unchanged—crop or blur separately if needed.
- Verify with an EXIF viewer when compliance matters.

JPEG vs PNG export?
PNG keeps sharp UI screenshots; JPEG/WEBP shrink photos. Re-encoding may slightly change bytes even without quality loss intent.
Batch many files?
This page is one-at-a-time for clarity. Repeat per file, or use the compress tab’s strip option in the toolbox when combining size caps.
